Seasonings are a simple way to add flavor to your meals. I find that black peppercorn, Himalayan pink salt, and lime juice make useful additions to my kitchen for several reasons.
Black Peppercorn: This spice adds flavor with a little heat and contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Black pepper also is antimicrobial!
I use black pepper to season my fish and steaks.
Also, I use it to add flavor to my greens (ex: collard greens, spinach, etc.).
Himalayan Pink Salt: Aids in hydration. It is also rich in potassium, magnesium, and iodine needed for thyroid health.
I find that Himalayan pink salt goes well in stews and on homemade red potato fries.
Lime Juice: I started using lime juice during the holidays as a way to tenderize the holiday turkey! Benefits of using lime juice include antioxidants and vitamin C. You can also use lime juice to create and add flavor to beverages.
Try these three seasonings together or separately!
